Spring and Summer 2009
2D Design consists of eight assignments which all revolve around the elements and principles of design. Most assignments involve exercises before a finished project is completed. Students also experiment with a number of materials, including many drawing media, acrylic paint, colored pencil, collage, sun-print photography, and printmaking. Students also make presentations on the work of current and historical artists, giving their own critiques of the work they are presenting. Keeping an active sketchbook of drawings, objects and writings is part of the final class grade.
